Takhini Hot Springs is located near Whitehorse, Yukon and is a very popular destination for travelers to come and enjoy a nice and relaxing soak from October to April. The local business created two pools for you to enjoy (a hot and warm pool).
As the water comes up from the ground at 118 degrees, it is cooled to roughly 107 degrees in the hot pool and 97 degrees in the warm pool. To fully get the healing effects from the water, it’s good to go back and forth from each hot spring to help open up your pores.

One of the greatest qualities of Takhini Hot Springs is that the sulfur smell you get at most pools doesn’t exist here. From research the hot water comes up through two faults and gets mixed with water that absorbs into the ground from the mountains. As the water is heated many of the minerals dissolve to give the natural water you can enjoy. This process can take up to 60 years for the water to rise into the Takhini Pools which is a feat within itself.
For an added bonus, if you go to this hot spring in Canada during February you can take part in the hair freezing contest. Although this sounds weird, it is a fun annual tradition and you will get to see some amazing hairdo that seem to freeze almost instantly.
