Summer Lake Hot Springs in Oregon emits groundwater that has been heated geothermally and possesses a complex mineral content. The site features four natural springs. The temperature of the main spring is around 124oF or 51oC. A bathhouse has been constructed on the springs where the water temperature is regulated at 113oF or 45oC. The natural temperature of the other three springs is between 106oF or 41oC and 118oF or 48oC.
The water is rich in minerals, containing sodium, potassium, chlorine and sulfur in rich concentrations. Boron, fluorine, calcium and magnesium are present in smaller quantities. Traces of iron, aluminum, lithium and hydrogen carbonate have also been observed.
The pools are available from 9 am to 7 pm for daytime visitors and for 24 hours for registered visitors. Clothing is optional after 9 pm, but no children are allowed.
