During peak season (May-July), these falls are quite impressive as they rush down over their rocky surface creating beautiful white foam along their path. To reach Liberty Waterfall in Alaska, start your journey from Anchorage and take the Seward Highway south for about 40 miles. Once you have reached Girdwood, turn onto Alyeska Highway and continue driving until you come to a T-intersection.
Turn right at the intersection and follow this road for approximately 4 miles until you reach the entrance of Chugach State Park. Follow the signs within the park to access Bird Creek Campground; it is located just past mile marker 15 on Crow Creek Road.
Once at Bird Creek Campground, begin hiking up towards Raven Glacier. After about 2 hours of hiking, you will see Liberty Falls cascading down into a small pool below. Enjoy!
