Kanarraville Falls is best known for its unique two-tiered cascading system, with a large lower tier that drops over 20 feet into an inviting pool below. The upper tier consists of several smaller waterfalls that trickle down from above, creating an incredibly
picturesque scene as they reach their final destination at the bottom.

The falls are situated at the end of a steep canyon with towering sandstone walls on either side. The water originates from springs higher up in Spring Creek Canyon before flowing down into this beautiful spot in Kanarraville. During springtime in particular, visitors can expect to see a variety of wildlife including mule deer grazing along with other small mammals such as chipmunks or squirrels darting around nearby trees and shrubs looking for food sources.

Atop these tall cliffs lies an old abandoned mining town known as Old Kanarraville where remnants still remain today offering visitors a glimpse into what life was like back when miners once roamed here. Visitors can explore old buildings like saloons left behind by early settlers while getting lost in history among rusted artifacts scattered across what used to be their homesite long ago!

Along your journey you will also pass by several different waterfalls including Lower Kanarra Falls which are accessible via steep ladders that lead down to their base pools. Once you arrive at Kanarraville Waterfall you will find yourself standing beneath two large tiers that make up this powerful cascade. You can follow trails around both sides of these falls for amazing views or take time to explore some smaller side streams that flow away from them as well!

Hiking Trail to Kanarraville Falls

The trailhead can be accessed via Kanarraville Road and is open to the public year-round with free parking available near the entrance. The hike begins at the base of a dry waterfall and leads hikers through narrow slot canyons carved into red sandstone rock formations. As you make your way up the canyon, you will pass several natural pools and waterfalls that are perfect for cooling off during hot summer days.

After a few miles, you will reach Kanarraville Falls, which features an 80 – foot cascade dropping into an emerald green pool below. You can take pictures or even swim in the pool if you wish! The entire hike to Kanarraville Falls is approximately 4 miles roundtrip with some light scrambling over boulders in certain sections of the trail. While there are no technical skills needed for this hike, it still requires strength and stamina as well as sturdy shoes due to slippery rocks and loose gravels on parts of the path.

1. From St George (Map), take Interstate 15 North towards Cedar City.

2. Take exit 42 and turn left onto Highway 130 West/Old HWY 91 toward Kanarraville.

3. Continue on Old HWY 91 for 10 miles until you reach Main Street (also known as 300 N.) in Kanarraville.

4. Turn right onto Main Street and continue through town until it turns into Spring Valley Road (it will be marked).

5. Follow Spring Valley Rd for 3 miles until you reach the parking lot at the trailhead of Kanarra Falls Trailhead/Canyon Drive (you’ll see signs!).

6. Park your car and follow the path up around 1 mile to get to the falls! Enjoy!
