Details about Jemez Hot Springs
From its crystal clear waters that are heated naturally by geothermal activity to its stunning mountain backdrop, Jemez Hot Springs offers an unforgettable experience for visitors of all ages. The main attraction at Jemez Hot Springs is, without a doubt, the hot springs themselves. These thermal pools are filled with water that comes from deep within Earth’s crust and has been heated up through geological processes. This makes it incredibly relaxing as well as therapeutic; many people believe that soaking in these hot mineral-rich waters can help alleviate aches and pains as well as promote overall health and wellbeing.
There are several different pools available ranging from small shallow ones suitable for children to deeper ones where adults can really relax and let their worries drift away into oblivion. In addition to being able to soak yourself silly in one of the many hot springs found here, there are also plenty of other activities available around Jemez Hot Springs such as hiking trails leading you through some amazing landscapes or exploring nearby ruins left behind by ancient Native American cultures like Anasazi or Mogollon peoples who once lived here hundreds of years ago before Europeans arrived on North America’s shores .
Visitors can also take advantage of fishing opportunities either along Rio Guadalupe River which flows past the area, or go bird watching since there’s no shortage of avian life living near this pristine environment. No matter what time you decide to visit Jemez Hot Springs you will be sure to find something enjoyable waiting for you!
Each of the four pools has a slightly different temperature ranging from 100 – 105 degrees. The source of the geothermal waters flow up from the ground at a blistering 142 degrees before cooling down for visitors to relax in. The Inner Peace pool is the first tub built at the resort and is close to the Jemez river. It is by far the deepest and is a popular spot for people who want to hear the rushing waters. The Meditation pool is the second pool at Jemez Hot Springs and is the hottest one out of the four. It also has some great views of the mountains and river below. The Reflecting pool is the third natural springs pool and is the largest one within the resort. The fourth is the Fountain of Youth where the source of the waters come in.
