Hell’s Hole – New York
Although we can’t put this waterfall into our top 10 list of New York’s best falls attractions, it’s accessibility and the fact you can view it from the roadside still makes it a place you need to at least see once. We would consider this a hidden gem of the state and in the peak summer months a great place to enjoy a secluded swimming hole to cool down in.

Hopefully you aren’t too religious as Hell’s Hole flows directly through Devil’s Kitchen (name derived from the boulders that have fallen into the gulf of the area and cut little slits for the water to cascade through. In total, the water drops roughly 30 feet between two sections until it eventually flows into Plattekill Clove.
Below Hell’s Hole Creek and Plattekill is said to have an amazing 300 foot waterfall, but due to it’s dangerous trek it isn’t recommended you attempt to access it. Enjoy the top sections and if you are driving in the area, pull over for a second to catch a glimpse of the very scenic surrounding canyon that has made Hell’s Hole a cool place to visit.
