The Creek Fire Trail at Wind Creek State Park is a 1.7-mile loop trail that provides visitors with an opportunity to explore the park’s diverse terrain and scenic views of the lake. The trail features several viewpoints, including one at the highest point in the park, which offers stunning views across Alabama’s largest manmade lake.

Along the way hikers will also come across various wildlife species such as deer, turkey, squirrels and other animals common to this area. The trail winds around a creek bed so it can be muddy during wet weather or after heavy rains; however, it is mostly well maintained and easy to navigate for most skill levels of hikers. Camping is available along portions of this fire trail if you plan on staying overnight in the park – just remember to bring your own supplies!
